Opening Reception " T I D A L" by Markus Sebastiano

Come celebrate the solo exhibition of Markus Sebastiano's "T I D A L" at the Blochaus Art Gallery on May 4th, 2024 from 5-8 PM.  

Markus Sebastiano is a Newburyport, MA based artist and the founder of The Blochaus Art Gallery. In his new series "T I D A L" he experiments with new techniques and applications within his mixed media practice. Moving around acrylic paint with a variety of different tools, his goal is to create abstract works that feel more minimal in shape while still feeling complex in color, texture, and depth. He will be featuring smaller works on paper, acrylic on wood and canvas, as well as his notable large scale mixed media pieces utilizing photography, acrylics, spray paint, transparencies, and resin.

Markus has spent a considerbale amount of time this winter photographing the ocean and all things coastal to inspire his current work in "T I D A L". As always his attempt to evolve as a visual artist comes with many hours of failed attempts and happy accidents. He is excited to show you all what he landed on.
